About Maes B and B
Maes is a cozy and comforable bed and breakfast in central Amsterdam. Run by an American from Hawaii and a buff Russian modern dancer, it is a wonderful example of post-Cold War rapprochement (lol). No but seriously, it's a great place to stay in comfort without breaking the bank.
There are the requisite narrow winding stairs to the upper floors, and the rooms are very comfortable with brand new shiny bathrooms. The kitchen has a cozy, homey feel. There is a pc with free internet access as well a beautiful semi-rooftop terrace out back accessible to guests (an aside about the terrace: there is a window which looks directly into one of the rooms' shower from there (for exhibitionist and voyers), and we strongly believe that there are bats who quack like ducks which terrorizingly swoop down at guests enjoying the terrace late at night).
The breakfast included delicious croissants as well as fresh strawberries, and the coffee is actually not bad at all. Staff are friendly and helpful.
