Hotel Haweli
About Hotel Haweli
Hotel Haveli, formerly known and still frequently referred to as 'Haveli Guest House' was a true delight in comparison to the majority of reasonably priced hotels in India. For an easily bearable 650 rupees (out of peak season), you get air con, a view of the fort from the wide window replete with box seat, hot water in the bathroom and, most important of all, a very comfortable bed.
Jodhpur itself didn't capture my imagination and I spent only one night at the Haveli but it was almost worth staying in the city for. The staff were all very friendly and generous with their time, particularly Vikram on reception, who gave us all the directions and advice we needed and even a map of the surrounding area.
Views from the restaurant on the roof are magnificent, the food and entertainment (Rajasthani music and dancing) decent. The Rajasthani cuisine section of the menu is particularly recommended, if only as an escape from the rather repetitive nature of menus around India.
If you're planning to visit Jodhpur, stay here. If not, Haveli, plus a Makhania Lassi from under the clock tower make it worthwhile making plans to go.
