About Spider House
Nestled in between student houses around Hyde Park and hipster hangouts on Guadalupe sits Spider House (or "Spider Haus" if you're just that pretentious). What used to be a quiet coffeehouse built up Frankenstein-like from discarded lawn furniture has over the years evolved into a full-on bar, music venue, and general social mecca for UT students and townies alike.
Besides the usual coffee and latte offerings, Spider House serves up several beers on tap and even more bottled, a variety of teas, and perhaps best of all, some creative snacking materials, from their chips and salsa to their bagel creations. If the weather's nice (and in Austin it usually is), seating on their lawn is the way to go - especially if you're a fan of the white trash lawn look. If mother nature decides to send some rain your way, there's the covered patio seating as well as plenty of comfortable, though of dubious origin, couches inside.
