About Manzana
Of course, I had my reservations about coming here. After living in Texas for most of my life, I'd developed standards of epic proportions when it came to Mexican food. First of all, if I could still feel my tongue after the meal, it obviously wasn't picante enough. Second, if there is kapusta in the meal, then I'm sorry, that is not Mexican. In fact, I'd argue that it is nearly impossible to get good, authentic-ish Mexican or Tex-Mex in Poland or even most of Europe; luckily, Manzana proved to be an exception to the rule.
I went for their Friday night mojito + burrito happy hour (great idea, and at 18 zloty, cheap enough to become a weekly ritual), and for the first time at a Mexican restaurant in Poland, I was not disappointed. The supreme nacho starter was loaded with chilli con carne, veggies, salsa, and proper tortilla chips, and just the right amount of spice (though I think putting some jalapenos in there would have made them perfect, though probably too hot for the average Polish palate). The burritos came out small and deep fried but surprisingly filling. Granted, if you order off the regular menu the prices can be a bit daunting - but I must say, if you're a Mexican food lover, it's worth it.
