About Koko

This venue, known since 2004 as Koko, was previously referred to as the Camden Palais, and before that even it functioned as the Camden Theatre, built in 1900. Architecture is definitely one of Koko's strong points, with the large auditorium proving perfect for hosting live acts and the various galleries providing some extra standing room for beer-swigging punters. Once the band has gone home DJs typically take over dropping fat slices of electro pop perfect for bopping the night away to. The clientele consists of many metrosexual guys with rock star aspirations and fit-but-they-know-it indie chicks, so expect to be treated like dirt by your fellow clubbers. Only other minus is that cloak room staff are clearly method actors practicing for their roles in 'The Rise of the Third Reich' play they are staging at drama school. Either that or they are on commission. Honestly 2 quid per item, and no stuffing your jumper down your coat sleeve... Nazis!
