About Cafe at Foyles bookshop
The jazz theme remains. Black and white photos of famous musicians and record sleeves adorn the walls and steel girders that hold up the ceiling. The air is filled with the soft notes of jazz music, whilst a piano loiters on a small stage in the corner, evidence that the music on offer isn’t always pre-recorded.
Large wooden tables stretch out across the floor, you may need to be quick to get the odd comfy leather chair, but you can always perch on a stool by the window overlooking the chaos of London below as you could before.
The range of sustenance seems also to have expanded to fit with the cafés new stature. Choose from breakfasts, a grand selection of sandwiches and cakes, with coffees and teas (+ wine and beer if you are eating). Sandwiches begin at £3.50 and teas at £1.50, quite reasonable being a mere hop, step and a jump from Oxford Street.
The only con of this place in the past was the chance of finding a seat. Now all your worries have been washed away, except that the cakes stare at you beckoning you to try them, all of themmmmm.
