When The Hope are recruiting bar staff I'd like to think that the manager includes the phrase "the suitable candidate should not suffer from claustrophobia" on their job adverts. Because The Hope is tiny, and what's more their (surprisingly cheery) staff are forced to operate in a minute corridor of space behind the bar - all four of them. Factor in a glass collector and you must have the highest concentration of staff per customer in London, which is good at least for getting served. Media types from dot.com success stories like Asos make up most of the clientele, whilst a sunny day doubles the drinking space as punters take over each inch of pavement outside. A good, if not spectacular, place for a post Powerpoint presentation pint.
