Trattoria Soprano is one of my favourite places to eat in Krakow. Here the food is always delicious and the service is easy going which means that for once, I can stop complaining and/or raving and finally just enjoy the time with the person I am eating with. Though I do rave a little bit about how delicious their mushroom (boletus) soup is... Truly a magical bit of liquid heaven. The pizzas and pastas are all just fine, though I have yet to try a fish or meat main. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is intimate and easy. It's also a great place to take a date, your family, or a small group of friends for great conversation with little distractions and zero pretension. Many restaurants in Krakow pin 'trattoria' to their names, perhaps trying to convey how authentic their food is (or is trying to be). In my mind however, a trattoria-style restaurant should be modest but delicious and Soprano fits the bill. Highly recommended for a relaxed and tasty meal in the Old Town.
