About Toads Place
When it comes to live music venues in cities under 200,000 people there is usually only one club that gets it right and a handful that just can't quite cut the mustard and usually don't even stick around long enough to attract a regular crowd, Well, If you hadn't guessed, Toad's Place is not one of those places and they have concocted the perfect recipe for throwing kick ass concerts that keep the crowds coming again and again. Since 1975 they have hosted virtually every major national touring act and have put New Haven on the map as one of the great rock towns on the east coast. So how do they do it you ask? It's simple (so says they), they do the one thing that most clubs fail miserably at... they mix up music! In any given month, Toad's features a broad spectrum of live performers, as well as some of the most talented DJs on the East Coast. Rock and Roll, Blues, Reggae and even Techno (for you e-heads out there). Every concert is an occasion and their stage attracts only the highest caliber of artists, old and new. The minimum capacity club also means that every show is truly up close and personal and is always a sweaty orgy of musical jubilation... (I remember practically being thrust on the stage at a Jurassic 5 gig and Chalie Tuna looked down and gave me a high five). The Toad keeps it real and lives it live.
