"American" as a national cuisine is a bit misleading as what one mostly thinks of are hot dogs and hamburgers and apple pie. Well, this is mostly right but if you put them in the context of real smokehouse BBQ than we are talking about a whole nother fish. The Muddy River Smokehouse is one of the best restaurants in the greater Boston area to get succulent grilled ribs, chicken, steaks, pulled pork, brisket, and yes even hamburgers. All these lean and mean meats are served with Muddy's signature spicy and tangy BBQ sauces. They also have tons of side dishes like corn bread, cole slaw, mashed potatoes, baked beans, or maybe even one of the legendary deep fried pickles. Keeping with the true Southern BBQ tradition – utensils are highly discouraged but the napkins are stacked high... Besides being a phenomenal feeding trough, the Muddy is also one of the best all around Bars and live music venues in town. They feature live rock, funk, true school rhythm and blues and even hip hop concerts on Friday and Saturday nights. The bouncing basement bar is also open week nights with a dance floor so you can shimmy those pulled pork pounds off before you even leave the building. Check out their website for events and menus.
