In a city that's chock-full of gothic cellars, Chimera digs that little bit deeper into the Romantic realm. Indeed, if Count Dracula was to throw in the towel and open a vegetarian bar, this is how it would look. Murals of fanged beasts welcome the traveller below terra firma, whilst lanterns cast eerie, zodiacal patterns. Velvet curtains lend an operatic touch, and chairs made from antique bedsteads add a dash of Bedknobs and Broomsticks. On the gastronomic front, guests can get their teeth into a marvellous mix of salads, pies and pancakes. Beers and wines are also on the agenda. Technically, the Count has to lie low during the day, but guests unfazed by rays of sunlight can enjoy the glorious garden, which is a runaway hit in summer.
