Smart furnishings, extensive cocktail list, polite staff in matching frocks, regulated hours, plasma TV screens and a "light bites" food menu - Paparazzi is very much a bar by numbers. When it opened in 1999, it might have something fresh to offer the city, but with a host of (s)wanky upmarket ventures opening recently in Krakow it can only be so long before 'the original cafe/bar' follows the dodo down a dark lane. Personally, coming from London, I've always found Paparazzi a remarkably bland exercise in gastronomic commerce and resented paying extra on my bill just for the privilege of sitting amongst cheesy snaps of Hollywood stars. An expense which I swallowed only on account of the fact that some of the waitresses here are remarkably hot...
