With its familiar psychedelic wallpaper, old transistor radio and even a smattering of "futuristic" chairs from the sixties, it would be tempting to write this place off as another cliched retro bar - but write it off I won't! I just like this place too much. Hidden at the back of a Bracka courtyard, Spokoj occupies the first and second floor of the building (almost unique in a city obsessed with cellars), and as the name suggests (linguists will tell you 'spokoj' means 'chill' or 'calmly does it') it is a great place to relax. Lots of open spaces are ideal for post-party get togethers on Sundays, whilst a fair few nooks and crannies mean you hide away with your date should you need some privacy (you never know when her boyfriend might be around;). A tatanka weighs in at a bargain 8 zloty and hand-made sandwiches wrapped in silver foil make for a tasty snack. Perennially full of youngsters, occasionally a party breaks out when one of them has too many wisniowkas and starts doing their Olivia Newton-John impression in front of the bar. Amusing if nothing else.
