About Fabryka Pizzy

Continuing with its original concept, begun in Kazimierz with a hip interior and hilarious menu, Fabryka Pizzy opened up its new location right off the Market Square to seemingly little fanfare. Or perhaps I just wasn't paying close enough attention to their fanfare. Either way, I discovered this more convenient (for me anyway) location purely through word of mouth, and as a fan of the original I was not the least bit disappointed.

With pizza names such as "hard times" (no toppings), "dracula's dread" (lots of garlic), or "green piggy" (you get the idea), you'll need a good few minutes with the menu just to go through all of the amusing choices - not to mention the shear variety on offer - pizzas, pastas, salads, gnocchi, "bombers" (like mini calzones), and soups. The pizzas are fresh and light, and served with a parmeseanish cheese topping and delicious pizza sauce (none of that ketchup nonsense most Polish pizzerias try to pass off), the salads and pasta dishes are more or less authentic and in a good, filling size. All in all, the prices are very reasonable, especially if you split a large pizza with a friend. Of course, since you're not paying posh Italian restaurant prices, don't expect posh Italian restaurant dishes.

Bonus - on weekends, this Fabryka location is open until 1 am, giving night owls a much tastier alternative to kebabs in the late-night snacking department.
