Treading a fine line between being 'upmarket' and just plain 'snobbish', at first glance Christopher's impresses with its Covent Garden location in a fashionable corner Regency building. There's a touch of The Ivy about the place, but a noticeable absence of celeb diners. There's no doubting, however, the quality of the food, which is described as 'New England' - whatever that is. Steaks are top notch, as is the celebrated Eggs Benedict. Apparently absolutely the place to be seen for a fashionably late brunch, Christopher's somehow falls short of real star quality. With a drinking hole as part of the establishment uninspiringly called the Martini Bar, it looks more the sort of place where George Lazenby would hang out than Daniel Craig.
