About Krakow

KRAKOW koffee house and market - just opened in Portland at the Overlook community with strong Polish heritage. Owners of this bistro / market have Polish roots and found that naming their new business as Krakow will fit well into this community and will meet their desire to become a longer term member of this neighbourhood.
On the bistro menu there are various coffees as you would expect at the koffee house, smoothies, milk shakes, salads, sandwiches and warm veggie meals, and sweet bakery products.
Since I was not that hungry I decided to try a half sandwich on rye, with turkey and shredded salad. The result - nothing special, but fresh and what you would expect if you are not lazy preparing this on your own at home. Next time I will try their warm dishes and will update this review.
The atmosphere of the place is pleasant, with good layout and simple but still cozy, modern, urban flavour. If you have time you can enjoy while having a snack and coffee to browse through various magazines and books. One of them is written by one of the owners ... it is about his family heritage, people that came from Poland and settled in Oregon. I read 5 pages about Jan who was the chamberlain for 2 popes in Vatican, quite an interesting story, next time I drop by I will have to finish this chapter.
The Krakow koffee house bistro is located at the street level of the condominium building, developed by the same people Mark Kirchmeier and Chris Gniewosz.
