Sui Sha Ya
About Sui Sha Ya
With a huge Asian community in Richmond, the demand for sushi of all price levels is incredible. Everywhere you look there is a sushi joint, whether it is an haute cuisine experience or a cheap as chips all-you-can-eat place.
Sui Sha Ya falls in the latter category, with all-you-can-eat starting from 10$ during off peak hours (think midnight munchies) to 20$ during the day.
Luckily the Lansdowne Mall location's decor doesn't completely reflect the cheap price of the food, with a classy Asian inspired clean look with plenty of your usual western-style tables as well as those sit-on-the-floor Japanese style tables.
Here you can order not only sushi but Japanese dishes such as dumplings, noodles, and grilled meat, served in small-ish tapas style servings. The food is forgettable, but for this price who cares?
Best for students and raw fish lovers needing a sushi fix that won't bankrupt their budget. Mmmm...
