Cafe Havana
About Cafe Havana
Walking into this place on a friday night can be daunting: it's tiny, hot, chock full of people. New York's hipster set (we are on Prince Street ya know) are squeezed into every little inch of booth, table and counter possible (if there's a line, it's worth the wait!). The food is affordable, especially for Manhattan, and so authentically Cuban it makes up for the fact that Americans cannot actually get visas to the island country. The tostones are delicious and make a great snack while your waiting and sucking down the best mojito on the continent. Sit at the counter and watch the bartender rush around refilling the ice bucket, crushing fresh mint leaves, and winking at the waitresses in their non-cheesy Cuban get-ups. This place brings a little bit of heavenly Havana to the island of Manhattan.
