About Guu

A visit to Guu is not one you're likely to forget - unless of course you've been lucky enough to set foot in Japan yourself. Those lucky ones have told me that Guu is the closest you can get to a real Japanese experience so I was already intrigued!
Guu is an Izakaya joint, meaning it serves the equivalent of pub food. But don't let that turn you off, as the Japanese idea of pub food is nothing like the onion rings you're used to.
Here dishes are served tapas-style, and range anywhere from the expected sushi to grilled dishes to hot pot. If you've never experienced "real" Japanese food, prepare to have your palette in awe.
Apart from the delicious, and luckily relatively affordable food, it's the mood at Guu that really sets it apart. Here you'll swear the reputation Japanese folk have for being shy and reserved is a complete myth, as the waiters and kitchen staff take any opportunity to shout at full volume to each other, making for a lively, casual, and exciting atmosphere.

A nice quote from Guu's website:
"This is a short trip to Tokyo.
Don't worry about things in your life.
Get drunk and have fun! Our friendly staffs will help you to forget everything!"
I can't wait to go back one day!
