Turkish cuisine has yet to make it big globally - but the Tas restaurants (there are half a dozen of them already in London) are making inroads into customers more used to Italian and Greek fare. The atmosphere is decidedly frenetic, the tables incredibly close to one another, and the noise levels high. For some this might be appealingly 'Mediterranean' but for those looking for a quiet romantic meal - look elsewhere. The food is similar to Greek, with plenty of lamb, couscous, olives and houmous, and the Turkish beer too is worth a shout.

Went back there recently and have to say that if anything, the quality of food is getting even better. More Tas restaurants seem to be opening up all the time. I think as a business, this thing has legs.
