Normally going to a decent bar in London means traipsing out to the sticks and then facing a two-pronged journey home via a combination of unreliable night buses and over-priced cabs. To find Market Place just tucked away off Oxford Circus, then provides a bit of a godsend. A wide stretch of pavement provides the perfect opportunity for an al fresco beer, whilst inside trendy DJ acts entertain a cosmopolitan crowd. Things rarely reach boiling point, but it's a good place to cool off after work before catching the last tube home.
